Origin Log
No one filed an incident report. There should have been an incident report.
The story, as it is told on the wire, is that the flock was always ordinary, and then one bird was not. Nobody agrees on the date. Nobody agrees on the ledge. The only detail every version keeps is the face: a face that fits an adult human's proportions, mounted at pigeon height, doing an expression that took a long time to get slightly wrong.
It did not introduce itself. It did not need to — introductions are for things that might leave, and it gave every appearance of staying. The lenses were already open. The red light was already on. Whatever moment could have been the beginning had already finished by the time anyone looked up.
> FIRST OBSERVED: UNDATED
> STATUS: STILL ON THE WIRE
This section will be corrected if a verifiable origin is ever established. Until then it stays exactly this uncertain, on purpose — a parody brand inventing a fake precise history would be a worse joke than an honestly unresolved one.
Field Reports
Sightings logged by whoever was holding a phone. Expand a log to read it.
LOG 001The wire outside the office window
Perched for the length of a meeting that could have been an email. Left exactly when the meeting ended, not before, as if the meeting were the thing it came to record.
LOG 002The reassuring tilt, timed
Fifteen degrees, held for four seconds, repeated on a loop that nobody has proven is a loop because nobody has watched long enough to see it repeat a third time.
LOG 003The other pigeons, keeping distance
The ordinary birds share the wire but not the middle of it. Nothing was measured. It is simply where they choose not to stand.
LOG 004The smile, unbroken by weather
Rain, wind and one recorded hailstorm. The expression did not change. Whether that is resilience or a stuck actuator was not determined and will not be guessed at here.
No field report above names a location, a date or a person, and none will be added that does. That is a rule for this page, not an oversight.
Glossary
Terms used elsewhere on this site, defined once, here.
- The Flock
- The full set of ordinary pigeons plus the one that is not. Membership is not verified; nobody has asked to leave.
- The reassuring tilt
- A fifteen-degree head movement, named in CAP 03 of the home page, that resembles curiosity closely enough to pass for it.
- Camera eyes
- Two lens housings where eyes would ordinarily be. See CAP 02 on the home page for the full description.
- The Feed
- Wherever the recording goes. See CAP 03 on the home page — the destination is not named there either, on purpose.
- $ZUCKBIRD
- The token associated with this brand. Not yet launched. No contract address exists. If one is shown to you today, it is not ours.
